The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire for a Named Financial Advocate to act in the role of appointee and financial advocate for people with a learning disability.
Money is essential for so much of everyday life and how we use money can be a very personal thing. As an advocate you will support people to manage their finances. You will get to know individuals and help them, their support team and family use their money to achieve their goals and live the life they choose. You will also be responsible for managing their benefit claims and budget and arranging bill payments. This will enable them to reach decisions, make informed choices and express their views, giving them more control and independence with their money.
Although this is a home-based role, it will include frequent travel within Huntingdon and surrounding areas such as St, Neots and March to visit the individuals you support along with remote support from local advocates, managers and the administrative and finance teams based in our office in Grantham.
This role will suit people who have the ability and flexibility to travel, work mainly weekdays (although some evening and weekend work may be required) and can work from home.

The Role
The Financial Assistant will work as part of a team responsible for managing the financial payments for the 1700+ individuals supported by Dosh. This is an essential role in ensuring the people supported can pay for things they need and do the things they enjoy.
This is a predominantly a home-based role with the flexibility of working from the Grantham office and we are looking for someone who can work 24 hours per week consisting of 3 x 8-hour days covering Monday, Tuesday & Friday.
The role will include inputting payments through an internet banking platform and managing standing orders and direct debits, using websites to pay for goods and services, maintaining spreadsheets and a database filing system and developing new ways to manage peoples finances. Also dealing with in-coming e-mails and assisting other staff with administration tasks. Using Microsoft Teams for internal meetings.
The Financial Assistant will also take part in and lead development projects, and liaise with people across Dosh, the wider Thera Group and over 200 partner care and support organisations.
