Position: Named Financial Advocate

Hours: Full-time or part-time

Salary: Up to £24,535.94 per year (pro rata if part-time)

Working pattern: Flexible – mainly weekdays, with some evening and weekends

Financial Advocate Maddy working with person at workshopAn exciting opportunity has arisen in Gloucestershire for a Named Financial Advocate to act in the role of appointee and financial advocate for people with a learning disability.

The successful applicant will work as part of a national team of Advocates providing support to individuals to manage their finances and claim benefits. This will enable them to reach decisions, make informed choices and express their views, giving them more control and independence with their money.

The successful applicant must show experience and knowledge of financial services or the benefits system. It will suit people who are looking for flexible hours working from home and are able to travel within Gloucestershire and around the West of England.

The role includes visiting people in the local area to review their budget and support them with money, as well as liaising with stakeholders and external companies including social services, DWP, utility and service companies, support providers and others. It also requires solid administrative and numeracy skills to maintain accurate records and utilise systems effectively.
